Lia74 feat. Kiddo - Be Friends (official music video, shot on a Canon 550D / T2i)

This is my first little music video. Entirely shot on a single Canon 550D. It was very cold when I shot the clip, but the camera performed very well. I used some aftermarked batteries and had no energy problems at all. The lenses I used to shoot this: Canon 18-55mm 3.5-5.6, Canon 50mm 1.8, Beroflex 28mm 2.8. To light up the faces I used my Z96 led light and a silver reflector in some shots. But since I didn't have assistants all the time (Thanks for your help, Marko), I couldn't use the reflector in all shots. So in some shots I had to light the faces up in post. My Capa viewfinder was foggy all the time, but it did it's job. I also used my DIY steadycam in some shots, but since there are so many cuts, you can't see that very well.

By the way, here's a flickr photostream with some screenshots.

Merry Christmas to all of you,

  1. Hey What lenses were used for what shots? The shots in the kitchen were used with the z96? Awesome look btw. What did you use for the beginning text graphics? After Effects?

  2. Most of the clip was shot with the kit lens at 18mm. Some scenes in the kitchen with the 50mm and some scenes in the back of the car with my 28mm lens.

I used the Z96 in the car and also for a few shots in the kitchen, but there the lighting was already good.

The graphics are made in Premiere (a GREAT tool!). That was much more difficult than in After Effects, but you have to dead with the tools you have ;)

  5. Jonni,

It is really awesome video specially you did with your T2i. I own exactly same camera and same lenses except your Beroflex. Your video really encouraged me with this equipment. Keep up your good work Jonni. I added your site in my bookmark, so i can check you quite frequently.

  6. Hi Mottomojo,

thanks a lot for your comment. You don't need super expensive equipment, you just need some creativity (but good equipment will help you a lot). ;)

Have fun on my little site,

  7. hey ich glaub du sprichst deutsch?, wollte fragen wie du das bei dem typ gemacht hast wo die kamera ihn von unten filmt und die cam sich so bewegt wie er?

think you´re german, just wanted you to ask how you done the scene, where the guy is filmed from below and the camera movement is the same movement as the guy moves?

thank you, cool video, found your site through the steady cam tutorial, btw where do you bought all the materials of the steady cam?

  8. Hi Fabio,

    jonni

  9. btw, check the steadycam post for more information on it. Most of the parts are custom made, you can't buy them.

    Cheers,
